In addition to the GRG Support Groups, there are other statewide resources designed to support grandparents, kinship caregivers, and families facing unique challenges. These programs offer community, connection, and professional guidance.

Adoption Journeys

A statewide post-adoption program that supports families in MA who have children through adoption or permanent legal guardianship.

  • Provides support groups, information and referral services, and much more.
  • Services are voluntary and at no cost to you.

A statewide network of community-based providers located in each of the 14 Massachusetts counties.

  • Each center provides family friendly programs including parent education, educational support, youth and parent support groups and more.

The Federation works to empower families with information, support and assistance to improve life outcomes for children and young adults especially those with disabilities.

  • Most FCSN staff members are parents of children with disabilities or family members of people with disabilities.
  • The Federation offers peer to peer support, workshops and trainings.

The Massachusetts Kinship Navigator Program offers free, one-on-one help to grandparents and other relative caregivers. Whether you’re just getting started or facing a specific challenge, a dedicated Navigator can walk you through your options and connect you to the services you and your family need.

A peer-led support network for parents and family members coping with a loved one’s substance use.

  • Offers education, resources, and hope in a judgment-free setting.

Free support services for eligible caregivers age 60+ who are caring for a loved one, including grandchildren.

    • Offers free, confidential 24/7 Parental Stress Line.
    • Support groups connecting parents with parents is open to all caregivers, regardless of background or situation.

Providing hope for children with mental health needs and their families through education, advocacy, outreach and support.

  • PPAL staff are primarily family members with lived experience raising youth with emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges.

Get the American Addiction Center Guide for Children of Addicted Parents

Child Care Aware of America (CCAoA) is the only national organization that supports every part of the child care system. Find local resources on child care, health and social services, financial assistance, support for children with special needs, and more. 

The Children’s Trust is a public-private organization working toward a Massachusetts free from child abuse and neglect. We partner with organizations and communities to drive systemic change to address the root causes of abuse and neglect so that all children can grow up in thriving families. 

MCOA supports local Councils on Aging (COAs) in building community centers that serve older adults, families, and caregivers across Massachusetts. With over 350 COAs statewide and a strong network built over 40 years, MCOA helps ensure that growing older in Massachusetts means staying connected, supported, and part of something bigger.

Community health centers provide primary, preventive, and dental care as well as mental health, substance use disorder, and other community-based services to anyone in need regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.

If you’re raising a child whose parent struggles with addiction, NACoA offers resources, tools, and guidance to help you navigate the challenges—at home, at school, or in your community. 

Partnership for Drug Free Kids gives practical guidance for families and caregivers to help prevent and address addiction in young people.
