Colleen Pritoni
Colleen Pritoni was hired in January 2016 as the first Coordinator for The Commission on the Status of Grandparents Raising Grandchildren. Colleen has been in the field of social work for over twenty years including 15 years as a social worker for The Department of Children and Families.
While at DCF, Colleen began the first weekly support group for grandparents raising grandchildren through DCF and facilitated the group for 11 years. This experience led her to work on various projects on behalf of The Commission over the years. Colleen is also a co-founder and is the Chairperson of Friends of Foster Care, Inc., a non-profit organization working to provide learning and enrichment opportunities for children in foster and kinship care.
Colleen has a Bachelors degree from Boston College and a Masters of Social Work degree from Boston College Graduate School of Social Work. She is a proud wife and mother and is very happy to be working with The Commission.
