Words of Inspiration

Raising a grandchild or a relative’s child is not easy—what you are doing matters on many levels.

When a child cannot stay with their parents, placement with a grandparent or kin caregiver offers something uniquely powerful: love, stability, and a deep sense of belonging. Children placed with relatives are more likely to feel safe and loved, stay connected to their siblings and community, and maintain their cultural identity—all of which help them grow, heal, and thrive.

Your care creates a foundation that fosters better mental health, fewer school changes, fewer behavioral challenges, and a stronger moral compass. One study even found that children placed with kin may be 50% less likely to develop behavioral health problems compared to those placed with non-relatives.

Your steady presence, your wisdom, and your love are powerful. They are helping children adapt to loss and uncertainty and opening doors to brighter futures.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we’re here to support you every step of the way.
