Friends of the Commission

The Commission has many friends and supporters that help us move the mission forward and improve the services, resources, and awareness about issues important to grandparents and kinship caregivers.

The Commission could not continue to do the great work it does without many friends, supporters, and volunteers who help various ways. The Commission would like to acknowledge them and invite you to learn more about them as well.

The Commission would like to thank the following supporters:

  1. Massachusetts Councils on Aging (MCOA)

The Massachusetts Family Resource Centers (FRCs) are a statewide network of community-based providers offering multi-cultural parenting programs, support groups, and services to grandparents raising grandchildren. The FRCs have partnered with the Commission to host several workshops and other events in support of the Commission. Visit their website to find an FRC in your community.
  2. The Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs  (EOEA) works to promote independence, empowerment, and well-being of people, individuals with disabilities, and their families. EOEA ensures access to the resources needed to live healthy in every community in the Commonwealth. The EOEA has been a partner and supporter of the Commission since it began in 2008.The Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs works to promote independence, empowerment, and well-being of people, individuals with disabilities, and their families. 3. The Department of Children and Families (DCF) works in partnership with families and communities to keep children safe from abuse and neglect. In most cases, DCF is able to provide supports and services to keep children safe with parents or family members. When necessary, DCF provides foster care or finds new permanent families for children through kinship, guardianship or adoption. DCF has been a support and partner of the Commission since it began in 2008.
